A place for families

When medical treatments require an extended stay in Grand Rapids, Spectrum Health Renucci Hospitality House is here for you. Each month, more than 300 families stay with us while their loved ones receive care.

Who can stay at the Renucci House?

The house is open to families of patients receiving treatment at:
• Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital (part of Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals)
• Corewell Health Buttterworth Hospital (part of Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals)
• Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children's Hospital (part of Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals)

We welcome families from across Michigan, the country and the world.

Convenient location

The Renucci House is on Ransom Avenue NE, steps away from Butterworth Hospital and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Blodgett Hospital is about a 12-minute drive away.

Home away from home

Volunteer meal program

The volunteer meal program at Renucci is an opportunity for those who want to cook a meal for our families, to do so in our Renucci Hospitality House kitchen! These meals make a big different in the lives of families in crisis. This opportunity is recommended for any teams, groups, businesses or associations and is a wonderful way to get your team together give back to families in need. We recommend a minimum of three volunteers and maximum of ten, but all are welcome!

Rooms and amenities

Bedroom

Private guest rooms with private baths are available, like this one with two double beds.

Fireplace

Comfortable common areas where families can interact include this room with a fireplace and cozy chairs.

Kitchen

A full kitchen and dining room facilities are available for families to share a meal together.

Library

Another common area available for families is the library with books and computer with internet access.

Patio

Common areas outside include this enclosed patio for outdoor dining and relaxing.

Television room

Another common area is the large family room with cable television.

Support and connection

Surround yourself with compassionate staff and volunteers dedicated to supporting you. You’ll also have opportunities to connect with other families going through a similar situation.

Low-cost lodging

Renucci Hospitality House current room rates is $45 per night. If a family is without means to pay, no problem. Our friendly staff will be able to provide you with affordable lodging.

How long can I stay?

The length of your stay depends on your needs. Some families stay just one night. The longest stay was 16 months. About one-fourth of our guests stay for more than 30 days.

Our history

The Renucci House was built in 1999, thanks to generous donors, including Peter and Patricia Renucci. More than 53,000 families have stayed with us to date.
