Did you know that early detection is the key to avoiding serious damage from vascular disease? That's why Spectrum Health offers free vascular screenings for high-risk patients.
If you have at least two of the risk factors below, you're eligible for a free screening:
- Diabetes
- Age 60 or older
- Hypertension
- History of smoking
- High cholesterol
- Family history of abdominal aortic aneurysm
- Family history of atherosclerosis before age 60
Features of our free vascular screenings
Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening
This is an ultrasound of the abdomen to screen for bulging or widening of the aorta.
Ankle-brachial index
A screening of the blood pressure in your arms and ankles that helps identify peripheral arterial disease (PAD), which can be linked to a greater risk of heart attack or stroke.
Carotid artery screening
An ultrasound of the carotid arteries in the neck that screens for plaque buildup, which can be dangerous and cause a stroke.
