According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States; approximately 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year. When detected early, breast cancer can be treated and cured. The survival rate is over 90 percent. That’s why Corewell Health and the American College of Radiology recommends annual screening mammography starting at age 40 for women of average risk, but earlier and more intense screening for high-risk patients.
Corewell Health Betty Ford Breast Care Services has 16 locations conveniently located throughout West Michigan and performs over 95,000 screening and diagnostic services per year.
Spectrum Health Betty Ford Breast Care Services is pleased to offer early detection breast cancer screenings through our full-service mobile mammography unit.
Our mobile unit team is committed to improving access and decreasing barriers to care in communities serving all patients, including women who may not have access to mammograms. The mobile unit works with physician offices, local companies, and non-profit community partners to offer accessible and affirming screenings at a convenient location.
The Betty Ford Breast Care Services mobile unit is a 45-foot clinic on wheels that uses state-of-the-art digital technology. Our mobile mammography unit utilizes the same 3D (tomosynthesis) digital technology as our other Betty Ford Breast Care Services sites. You will be welcomed in a comfortable registration and waiting area. After you have registered, you will use a private dressing room before receiving your mammogram.
Free mammograms are available for uninsured or under-insured women. Call 616.486.6022 to see if you qualify.
