The neurodevelopmental pediatrics team of the Gerber Center for Infant Development and Nutrition exists to serve the often complex needs of high risk graduates of the neonatal intensive care unit and those who have undergone early or complex heart surgeries, as well as young children with similar issues related to feeding and development. Our highly trained and experienced interdisciplinary team consisting of physician specialists, nurse practitioners, a dietitian and social worker, work closely with families, other specialists and the child’s medical home, leveraging community resources as indicated, to help ensure the best possible outcome for our patients.
Our experienced pediatric doctors and specialists are ready to serve you and your family.
Our neurodevelopmental pediatrics provides expert care for a variety of conditions, including:
We hold monthly multidisciplinary development assessment clinics to provide follow-up care for infants who were under 30 weeks gestation, weighed less than 1500 grams at birth, were diagnosed with HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy/body cooling protocol) and who were admitted to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Our infant progress clinic provides screening services for children who were previously cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and children who meet specific criteria that place them at risk for developmental delay.
We are located in downtown Grand Rapids at 35 Michigan Street NE, Suite 3003. Parents of children at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and their visitors may either park in Ramp 3 or use valet parking at the main entrance circle drive off of Michigan Street. Parking is free at all Spectrum Health ramps but you must have the parking ticket validated at the clinic or one of the hospital information desks.
