Infant health, care and safety

Did you know data shows nearly 80% of all infant car seats are installed incorrectly?  Learn from our nationally certified child passenger safety technicians how to ensure your infant/child is riding safely every time.  We provide education on the different types of car seats, correct installation based on your type of seat and your infant/child’s age, correctly securing your infant/child into the seat, as well as additional safety measures. 

All services described below are free.

In person education is available in Grand Rapids and Zeeland.

The in-person education for the Grand Rapids and Zeeland locations includes group class education and time at the end for one-to-one car seat checks for those who are interested.

The virtual (Teams) group class provides education and time at the end for one-to-one virtual car seat checks.

The virtual (Teams) one-to-one education provides 30 minutes of dedicated, individualized one-to-one education and virtual car seat checks.  

This class is available at our Big Rapids, Grand Rapids and Greenville locations.

Practice hands-on CPR and choking techniques with baby and child-sized mannequins. You will also learn how to use an automatic external defibrillator. This class uses the American Heart Association’s “Family and Friends” CPR course, and you will receive an AHA resource book to take home. This class is not for certification.

Prevent accidents and injuries of infants and children by learning about how to make your home safe, poisons and what to do in an emergency. This class will also cover basic first aid for allergic reactions, broken bones, burns, cuts and falls.

This pediatrician led virtual class covers what to expect when your baby is born, from hospital care to well-baby checkups. Also learn about immunizations, sick baby visits and other pediatric recommendations.

This class is free.

Learn about practical baby care including newborn senses, sleep, feeding, bathing and more. This class is for those not needing an Understanding Birth Class-scheduled Cesarean birth, grandparents, day care providers.

This class and the "Understanding Birth" class present duplicate content. We recommend only registering for one or the other.
