Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital

Extra Life Grand Rapids gamers play for Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Participants fundraise year-round, from weekend tournaments to gaming marathons. Since 2010, Extra Lifers have raised over $500,000 to help transform children’s lives with personalized medical care at HDVCH. By participating in Extra Life, or making a gift to a participant, you are helping sustain more than twenty programs and services that rely on philanthropy to continue.

How to participate in Extra Life

Sign up: Pledge to play games at home or online on any day that works for you.

Fundraise and recruit: Ask family and friends to donate and recruit others to join your team.

Play games: Play games, have fun and help kids at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.

Upcoming events

Extra Life United – July 18-21, 2024: Extra lifers from around the world come together in person in Orlando, FL for a friendly gaming tournament and to connect with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals- the cause that gives our gaming meaning.

Game Day – November 2, 2024: Extra Lifers pledge to play games and spread awareness for kids being treated at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital on Game Day. Gamers can also create their own game day or days, throughout the year.

Tabletop Appreciation Weekend – April 2025: Throughout the month of August, Extra Life will be celebrating #ExtraLifeTabletop with Tabletop Appreciation Weekend happening August 19 – 20, 2023.
