Call for Emergency Helicopter Request
Aero Med provides scene flight services, inter-hospital transport services, and specialty services such as neonatal transports, intra-aortic balloon pump, left ventricular assist device transports and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) transports.
We operate two Sikorsky helicopters that are stationed in Grand Rapids, with one aircraft on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are nationally recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). To date, we have safely transported more than 19,000 patients.
The Aero Med transport team consists of two certified flight registered nurses with paramedic certifications. Our teams specialize in the transport of the most critically ill patients, including adults and children. We have extensive training and experience in medication drip management, ventilator and airway management and trauma care.
We offer the critical care for adult and pediatric critical care, high-risk pregnancies, trauma care and on-screen response.
At Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, our young patients have a place dedicated exclusively to their health care needs. Pediatric care is provided by specially trained nurses, therapists and other clinicians, including more than 200 pediatric providers in 50 specialties. When a pediatric patient needs transportation to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, selecting the appropriate transport method is very important. Aero Med offers a medical crew with the training to care for critically ill children.
